Season overview
Liverpool reached the Champions League final and finished fourth in the Premier League with 75 points. Mohamed Salah arrived from Roma and scored 44 goals in all competitions, including 32 in the league. Andy Robertson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also joined in the summer, followed by Virgil van Dijk in January, when Philippe Coutinho left for Barcelona.
After progressing through qualifying and the group stage, Liverpool eliminated Porto, Manchester City and Roma to reach Kyiv. Real Madrid won the final 3–1: Salah went off injured, Sadio Mané equalised Karim Benzema’s opener, and Gareth Bale scored twice. Firmino and Mané finished the campaign with 27 and 20 goals respectively. At home, Leicester ended the League Cup campaign in the third round and West Bromwich Albion knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup in the fourth round.

Notes on the record
Overview evidence: paragraph 1 — lfch-league, lfch-scorers, lfch-transfers and lfc-salah; paragraph 2 — lfch-games, lfch-final, lfch-scorers, lfc-salah and lfc-klopp.
Competitive totals include Champions League qualifying. Mané’s exact 20-goal total comes from the scoring ledger; no loose wording suggesting more than 20 is repeated. Salah’s injury is established by the official profile, without speculation about intent or medical causation.
No transfer fee or record is claimed. Solanke’s arrival is recorded as permanent; no claim of a cost-free move. Origi’s loan is distinguished from a sale.
